Tsipras in North Macedonia on Tuesday, along with major business/investor delegation

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras travels to Skopje on Tuesday for a landmark visit to the newly renamed Republic of North Macedonia, complete with high-ranking talks – but not with the country’s president – an inter-ministerial meeting and attendance at a bilateral business forum.

The visit will mark the first time a standing Greek prime minister has visited the one-time Yugoslav constituent state since it declared independence in 1991.

Tsipras will be accompanied by a bevy of high-profile Greek businesspeople and investors , which the Greek national news agency reported as reaching 140.

Meanwhile, in a related development on Monday, the national news agency of North Macedonia, MIA, featured an exclusive interview with Tsipras, where, among others, he admitted that the Prespa agreement has faced strong opposition in Greece.
