Aegean’s passenger traffic recorded a dynamic start in the first two months of the year, showing a 9% increase in total passenger traffic in January and February, having transported approximately 1.9 million passengers on both international and domestic networks and having offered more than 2.4 million seats (+8% more).
In particular, Aegean in the traditionally weakest two months of the year, recorded a 13% increase in international traffic and 3% in domestic traffic.
In total, in 2024, Aegean carried 16.3 million passengers, recording an annual increase of 6% compared to 2023, having offered more than 19.7 million seats, increased by 1.1 million despite operational and geopolitical challenges, and recorded another, new historical high in the company’s passenger traffic.
Continuing its strategy of strengthening its activity, Aegean will offer approximately 21.5 million seats in 2025, i.e. 1.8 million seats more than in 2024. Specifically, it will offer approximately 13 million seats in the international network, exceeding 1.4 more seats compared to 2024, and 8.5 million seats in the domestic network, approximately 6% more.
In the international network, Aegean has significantly strengthened its activity in the Turkish market, adding new direct flights from Heraklion, Mykonos, Rhodes and Santorini to Istanbul.
At the same time, it is launching new direct connections to Erbil (Iraq) and Baku (Azerbaijan) from Athens and to Rome from Larnaca during the summer of 2025.
At the same time, activity is being further strengthened in the Iberian Peninsula, the Balkans (Albania, Bulgaria), Egypt as well as Italy (Rome, Bologna) and Switzerland (Zurich), while the company’s significant investment in routes to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco continues.
