OTE’s vision for 2030 and its development strategy were presented by the President and CEO of OTE Group, Kostas Nebis, to more than 400 associates of the GERMANOS store network from all over Greece, who gathered in Athens on February 22-23 for their annual conference.
With the central message “Change: Adapt, Grow, Go Digital” the store associates made an assessment of the past year and were informed about the goals for 2025, focusing on the customer experience, both private and professional.
The network’s priorities for the new year were presented by Thanasis Stratos, Chief Customer Operations Officer of OTE Group and President and CEO of GERMANOS.
“We have learned to pioneer. We want our customers to have technology experiences in our stores, to feel confident and to provide them with solutions. Our bet in the digital era is to train them to use more digital service tools, as well as OTE Group solutions such as payzy, BOX and COSMOTE Insurance. Remaining true to our strategy, in 2025 we continue to invest in excellent customer experience, innovation, strengthening our brand, OTE Group services and the culture of progress of our people,” Stratos emphasized at the conference.
Strong performance in 2024 and high targets for 2025
2024 was another successful year with strong performance for GERMANOS stores, as they recorded growth in all key product categories, as well as in COSMOTE services. The performance in fixed connections went well, especially in COSMOTE Fiber. An increase was also noted in mobile, mainly from portability, while in COSMOTE TV connections GERMANOS exceeded its sales target. Corporate connections also moved upwards.
Product turnover increased significantly. As highlighted, GERMANOS remained firmly in 1st place in mobile sales, while the market share was also high in accessories, smartwatches, gadgets and smart TVs. The results from the sales of small household appliances were also positive, achieving significant profitability in their first year.
GERMANOS remained the No. 1 destination for mobile service, with its experienced and certified technicians repairing over 160,000 devices per year. Of these, 65% were repaired directly in stores, while the rest were repaired at the company’s privately owned repair center.
In 2025, GERMANOS will focus on fixed sales with COSMOTE Fiber dominating, on mobile and pay TV, but also on synergies with non-telecommunication services. Emphasis will be placed on new technologies and digital tools, such as the COSMOTE app, the G app and germanos.gr, but also on new areas such as warranty extension, device security and the Trade-in device exchange program.
