Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by CAA recorded a +6.3% increase in the first half of 2024, according to the provisional data.
More specifically, the total number of traveling passengers (international and domestic arrivals and departures) reached 4,032,909 passengers between January and June, compared to 3,792,575 passengers in the corresponding period of 2023.
At the same time, passenger traffic in all Greek airports where commercial flights are conducted (39 airports: 24 CAA, 14 Fraport Greece, AIA) showed an increase of +11.4% compared to last year. In particular, the total number of passengers in the period January – June 2024 reached 30,594,981, compared to 27,463,127 passengers in the corresponding period January – June 2023.
Regarding the number of aircrafts (domestic and international aircraft arrivals and departures) in all of the country’s 39 airports, whose air traffic control is mainly carried out by the CAA, there was an increase of +7.8% compared to the same period last year.
More specifically, in the first half of 2024 there were 242,170 flights, compared to 224,712 flights in the first half of 2023.
