Kontopoulos to «N»: Listed companies can use dispersion as an advantage

«I would say that I am more optimistic than what we usually read in the newspapers about what exactly will apply in the future»

Optimism that the companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange will take advantage of the new regulations of the Stock Exchange, in order to increase their marketability was expressed by the CEO of the Athens Stock Exchange Group, Giannos Kontopoulos, in his exclusive statement to “Naftemporiki” on the sidelines of the event organized in collaboration with the SEVE Exporters Association in Thessaloniki.

“I would say that I am more optimistic than what we usually read in the newspapers about what exactly will apply in the future,” Kontopoulos said and added:

“I believe that the right trigger has been given, so that the companies themselves will use the issue of dispersion as an advantage, so that they can also attract new investors and at the same time give a boost to their own investment plans and really improve their own product outwardly. I think that the alternative of ‘doing nothing”’ will create a special burden and that it will also have some negative impact on the reputation of these companies. I don’t think any of our listed companies want this, and I mean it seriously.”

“Right now we have a pipeline that’s different. Because the future is unpredictable and we have a very complex international investment cycle, we can neither celebrate nor report anything before someone pushes the button. But at least I think we have specific interest from specific companies in the next 12 months.”
