The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has launched an electronic “war” against tax evasion, intensifying digital controls, with the aim of reducing the tax gap in income and VAT.
The “hunt” for tax evasion is intensifying as the goal of collecting approximately 65 billion euros must be achieved. Therefore, the new center for special tax and customs control and investigation forces is heading towards its final phase.
AADE is even planning to proceed with further strengthening and modernization of the audit framework which, among other things, is expected to include:
– The establishment of a center for special tax and customs control and investigation forces, which will act as a central coordination hub, enhancing cooperation and efficiency between specialized control forces, intervening in the field in a targeted manner in real time.
– The creation of a mass digital intersection unit that will have innovative tools such as big data analysis, online surveys and audits of digital invoicing systems.
– Modernization of control methods through the adoption of innovative technologies, aiming to improve the effectiveness of on-site audits.
