“A total of 37 companies operating in 20 different sectors of the economy have been supported by the ENVOLVEXL program,” Managing Director of Envolve Entrepreneurship, Alexandros Nousias, said in an interview with Naftemporiki TV.
In addition to the funding and support they have received, they have also managed to attract investment interest from other organizations and funds, he added.
More specifically, he said that “in addition to our own financing with 6 million euros, they have managed to raise over 320 million euros from the market, reaching a valuation close to 1 billion euros.”
“We have been trying all these years to support the innovation ecosystem, and beyond the financial numbers, there are also more than 2,000 jobs that have been created.”
Regarding the activity of start-ups outside the borders, Nousias commented that this is what is being sought, since “extroversion is key to their success, but also to the success of the Greek economy.”
We want to support 100 start-ups in the next 5 years
Regarding the goals of the program, Nousias explained that “it is a program that it is aiming to support 100 start-ups in the next 5 years which, depending on the product or service they offer to the market, will also contribute to the transformation of the economy in a more sustainable direction or towards a more digital economy.”
“Our financing is done in terms of investment, but all this money, the 265,000 euros per year that we offer to the top 5 teams, will return to the ecosystem,” he concluded.
