Zara will launch on December 12 the Pre-Owned platform that helps customers extend the life of their clothes in 14 new European markets, including Greece.
Through the platform, Zara customers will have access to circular economy services such as repair, cross-selling and donation of the chain’s clothing through Zara.com, its mobile app and Zara stores.
Zara Pre-Owned has been operating in the UK for a year and in France since last September and is part of the Inditex group’s sustainability commitments for the coming years. Extending the platform in Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Portugal, the Group is progressing towards its goal of implementing circular economy services in its key markets during 2025.
What possibilities does the new platform give to customers?
Repair: This service allows customers to request the repair of any used Zara garment of any season.
Selling: Zara Pre-Owned also offers customers the opportunity to sell their Zara clothing from any collection through a secure and modern interface.
Donate: Customers can request used clothing to donate to non-profit organizations.
The sustainability goals of the Inditex group
This new platform is part of the sustainable development strategy of the Inditex group. In addition to Pre-Owned, the Group’s sustainability goals include:
- Use of textile materials with less environmental impact in 2030.
- Strengthening the supply chain transformation plan.
- Support projects to protect, restore or regenerate up to 5 million hectares and contribute to the enhancement of biodiversity.
These initiatives aim to reduce emissions by more than 50% by 2030, with the goal of achieving emissions neutrality by 2040 with a reduction of at least 90%.
