Ιt will be possible to detect in real time suspicious cases of tax evasion

A total amount of 100 million euros from the “Digital Transformation 2021-2027” program of the NSRF will be channeled to the digital strengthening of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE).

AADE will then proceed with the immediate upgrade of the taxation information systems and the operational modernization of its audit mechanism.

The aim is the acceleration of the new ‘Taxis’ system, the integration of artificial intelligence and Data Mining tools to combat tax evasion, as the new systems will be able to draw data from a huge pool of information on income, real estate and movable property, spending, daily transactions with stores, but also bank transactions.

It should also be mentioned that with the new systems, it will be possible to detect in real time suspicious cases of tax evasion and smuggling, while taxpayers will be categorized according to their behavior, such as “strategic defaulter”, “possibility of tax evasion”, etc.

In the first phase, the artificial intelligence will directly check all the tax declarations upon their submission and find out which ones are true or false, giving  a “danger signal” to the tax authorities in case of counterfeit money, while at the same time it will be able to detect the existence of any hidden assets.
