Over 80 B2B contacts of Greek and German companies from the shipping – shipbuilding industry

During the contacts, the German companies presented their services and products, highlighting digital solutions for shipping and modern technologies for the construction of "green" ships

More than 80 B2B contacts with Greek companies were held by 12 German shipping and shipbuilding companies that participated in a business mission to Piraeus, organized by the Hellenic German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the consulting company Navigator Shipping Consultants LTD, a member of the Chamber within the framework of an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).

During the above contacts, which took place a few days ago, at the facilities of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in Piraeus, the German companies presented their services and products, highlighting digital solutions for shipping and modern technologies for the construction of “green” ships, while, at the same time, they explored possible partnerships with Greek companies in their sector.

The representatives of the German companies had earlier participated in a conference of the Hellenic German Chamber on “Green Technologies and Digitization in the shipping industry of Greece and Germany”, while the B2B contacts were followed by visits of the German delegation to a shipyard and a port facility in the country.

More specifically, the first took place at the shipyard of the ONEX Shipyards & Technologies group in Elefsis, where the expansion plans of the shipyard were presented and followed by a tour of its facilities, and the second at the Ports Organization of Elefsis, where there was an exchange of views with the management on the challenges in green technologies.

The business trip was concluded with a networking brunch at the Marine Club in Piraeus, during which a fruitful discussion was carried out between the German and Greek representatives on developments in the shipping and shipbuilding industry, European challenges and opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

The networking brunch was also attended by a top official of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and representatives of the Piraeus Marine Club, the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chios Marine Club, WIMA, the International Propeller Club, the University of Piraeus and AMMITEC.
