After a year of cooperation on codeshare flights with more than 16,800 passengers, Aegean and Emirates announced the extension of their agreement, with the addition of new routes, namely the addition of the Athens – New York (Newark) route. Emirates passengers are now able to travel via Athens to destinations included in the two airlines’ networks, while Aegean passengers will now have access to Emirates flights between Athens and New York (Newark).
The codeshare agreement between Emirates and Aegean started in August 2022, giving Emirates passengers the opportunity to travel – via Athens – to 8 Greek destinations, with one ticket and a single baggage policy. On its part, Aegean provides its passengers with the opportunity to benefit from the increased connectivity of the Emirates network to international destinations via Dubai, by offering flights between Dubai and Athens, and now by offering flights from Athens to New York.
Aegean supports this partnership by offering 17 domestic destinations and 53 additional points in Europe and the Middle East operated from its hub in Athens, while Emirates with a global network of more than 140 destinations on six continents around the world from its hub of Dubai. The combined network will reach 200 destinations in the world.
