DEPA Infrastructure, an Italgas Group company active in natural gas distribution in Greece, and the Region of Western Greece announced a new, modern natural gas distribution network that will upgrade Patras, the country’s third largest city.
The construction of the network will start in September and will have been completed by the spring of 2025.
The Patras project foresees investments of 18 million euros and is co-financed by Gas Distribution Company DEDA (a subsidiary of DEPA) and resources of the Western Greece Operational Program (NSRF 2014-2020) and the Public Investment Program. The contract concerns the construction of a 120 km natural gas distribution network in the city of Patras, which will be supplied by cryogenic tanks and LNG regasification equipment that will be built in the Industrial Area of Patras.
Through the network, at least 5,000 consumers from the residential, commercial and industrial sectors will be supplied in the first phase. Construction work will continue after 2025 to meet future demand.
