Deloitte: Recovery of business tourism

At the same time, a report by Deloitte entitled “The 2023 Business Travel Report “Navigating towards a new normal” also demonstrates the recovery of leisure tourism, which shows greater dynamics than business tourism. However, business tourism is also recovering, as the total business tourism spending for 2023 is expected to exceed 75% of the corresponding spending of 2019 – a landmark year for the global tourism industry.

Vassilis Kafatos, Partner, Growth Leader in Deloitte, said: “The new factors affecting corporate travel are bringing significant changes to the way companies are taking travel decisions. The Greek tourism industry should focus on areas and sectors such as strengthening domestic infrastructure, targeted promotion, collective action of all stakeholders, adopting high standards of safety and hygiene for travelers, as well as offering innovative digital and sustainable solutions.”
