Following a small reduction of 15 million euros in April, deposits placed by the private sector increased by 794 million euros in May 2023, while the annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 3.3% in May 2023, compared with 3.6% in the previous month.
In total, household and business savings totaled 186.42 billion euros in May, of which 44.63 billion euros came from businesses from 43.5 billion euros a month earlier and 141.78 billion euros from households from 142 billion euros a month earlier.
According to the Bank of Greece, household deposits decreased slightly by 324 million euros, while those of businesses increased by 1.18 billion euros
